laityn mae.

Our precious blessing decided to arrive on Saturday, October 27, 2012. Since finding out only a few weeks before her due date that she was breech, we scheduled an early c-section for November 2 to avoid emergency situations.

Well. Little Laityn wanted to  meet mommy and daddy. Saturday morning I woke up and took the dogs out. I came back in and laid down and about two minutes after that. My water broke. Did you hear that? My water broke. It was the most unreal and enjoyable feeling. I say this because I was saddened when I found out she was breech and would not be able to experience a normal vaginal delivery. The nurses let me dilate to a 5.5 so that I could experience some labor pains. Which I was so thankful for.

It then came time to meet our little angel. Since Shanda (our Pastor's wife/amazing friend) is a NICU nurse at our hospital, we asked her to be in the operating room with us. She was such a blessing. She made sure we got the best anesthesiologist,{Who Scott hit it off with right away....Dancing to MJ while the nurses were prepping} took photos, and comforted us. Scottie was right by my side the entire time. It felt so peaceful and emotional. The c-section went smoothly. And the only thing I remember not liking was the tugging from side to side. But once I heard her scream. I was gone. Gone in the emotions of thanking my Lord and the feelings of getting to meet my baby girl in a couple short moments. She was beautiful. All 7lbs 2 oz of her with a headful of dark hair. As they wheeled baby and I out I had Scott go and get my mom so she would be the first one to meet her.

The next few hours were a blur. I got super sick coming off of the anesthesia. All I remember is continually throwing up. Nurses trying to get Laityn to breastfeed. And that's about it. Not the best combination. But one I would do over and over. I will never forget that day. The day we became a family of three.
